Who is Jayburd?

The summer before PT school, I almost quit.
I'd seen 3 different physical therapists. Got an MRI that showed nothing. Spent 6 months going to appointments that didn't help.
I was beyond frustrated.
After competing in powerlifting in 2017, I got hit with multiple injuries. I had to stop training and navigate our broken healthcare system—alone.
I finally found help from a 4th PT and one of my professors. But it took a year and a half to get back under the bar at full strength.
This wasn't my first awful experience with PT.
I've dealt with injuries since elementary school. And honestly? I hated physical therapy as a kid.
I was told things like:

"Stop squatting"

"Running is bad for your knees"

"Don't skateboard anymore"
After 13+ years in fitness and PT, I know how damaging those beliefs are.
There's no reason you can't lift unrestricted, play the sports you love, and live the life you want.
There's no reason you should take time off from training because of aches and pains.
As lifters, we need the gym to stay mentally healthy. When pain takes that away, we spiral.
I've made it my mission to make sure my clients never go through what I did.
My dream? Change this experience for lifters like us—one person at a time.
